Our research activity consists of the molecular design and synthesis of photoactive chromophores, organic glasses, dendrimers, metal complexs, supramolecules, nanostructures, and polymers. Molecular design using semi-empirical quantum calculation and expert organic synthesis are carried out for the various chromophores for nonlinear optics, photoconduction, photorefraction, photochromism, photoluminescence, excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT), two-photon absorption, and aggregation-induced enhanced emission (AIEE). We are deeply engaged in the elucidation of structure-property relationship of these photoactive molecular materials.
